Violet Roumeliotis is the CEO of Settlement Services International (SSI), a NSW-based not-for-profit organisation that provides support services to refugees, asylum seekers, people with disability, children from CALD backgrounds who require foster care and job seekers.
Violet has an extensive background in the leadership of large not-for-profit organisations. She has a proven track record in growing businesses in the not-for-profit sector. Violet has steered SSI through a dramatic growth period, from a staff of less than 70 just three years ago, to over 500 in 2016.
She was named in Pro Bono Australia’s 2014 and 2015 lists of the 25 most influential people working in the not-for-profit sector.
Violet is a member of a number of Boards and International Committees. She is a member of the Metropolis International Committee which is an academic and practitioner migration think tank and research body, she is a delegate in the UNHCR Annual Tripartite Committee on refugees, is a newly appointed to the Justice Multicultural Advisory Council, a member of the NSW Police Multicultural Advisory Council, a Board member of the Sydney Alliance and a member of its Leaders Council, an executive member of the Settlement Council of Australia and a past Chair of the South West Sydney Legal Centre.
Violet came to the sector with a Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in Sociology and History from UNSW. She also has a Masters in Management from UTS, a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and an accredited mediator.
